At least 25 people die in Peru bus mishap
At least 25 people were killed and 23 injured when a passenger bus plunged 400 metres off a road in a mountainous area of Ayacucho province in southern Peru, highway police said.
The crash took place late on Monday but authorities only learned of it on Tuesday due to the remoteness of the accident site, near Huanta city. Rescuers were sent to the location to help the victims.
Regional authorities noted that roads in the area were in bad condition due to constant rains.
