Leader of Opposition in Madhya Pradesh assembly, Babulal Gaur has risen to the top in state politics after making a humble start. A shrewd politician, he has outsmarted his detractors both inside and outside his party, thereby establishing himself as a force to reckon with in Madhya Pradesh.

Born on June 6, 1930 in Nogir villager in Pratapgarh district of Uttar Pradesh, Babulal Gaur represents Govindpura constituency in Madhya Pradesh. As an important OBC leader, BJP has given him a big responsibility for coming elections, considering the large number of OBC voters who have never voted unitedly in the state.

A lawyer by profession, he has been very active in trade union activities across Madhya Pradesh over the years and has risen to the top from grassroots level. He has a son and two daughters.
