Bailable warrants issued against hospital directors

CHIEF JUDICIAL Magistrate of Dewas issued bailable warrants against three directors of Dewas Hospital Research Centre Private Limited on Friday for violation of Sections 4, 5, 8, 10, 11 of the Bio Medical Waste Handling Rule 1998.

Ujjain’s MP Pollution Control Board (MPPCB) advocate Sanjay Dubey told HT over phone that in the event of conviction there could be five years’ imprisonment.

The Board had filed complaint in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Dewas against Dewas Hospital Research Centre Private Limited for violation of Bio Medical Waste Handling Rule 1998. Under Bio Medical Waste Act 1998, there are three different types of containers of different colours for storing different kinds of bio medical waste. Advocate Sanjay Dubey informed that under Sections 15 and 16 of the Environment Protection Act 1986, there could be conviction of up to five years.

The directors of the Hospital who have been summoned by the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Dewas are Manish Jain, Dilip Choudhary and Jitendra Choudhary, Sanjay Dubey added.
