?Bandish? and ?Abbey? to rock crowds at IIIT-A
CELEBRITY NIGHT, scheduled to be held on October 28 as part of the annual mega cultural fest—Effervescence MMVI— of the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT-A) will be special this year.
Famous bands like 'Bandish' and 'Abbey' will perform to electrify the audience and to add to the dance fever, the famous Kennel Dance Troupe from Bollywood would also perform to take the fever to a new pitch.
Bandish has truly been blessed with musicians who prove to be melodic and bursting with energy. Bandish was formed by the ace drummer and percussionist Chris Powell along with guitarists Desmond and Adil Manuel, vocalist Abhishek Nailwal, and bass player Arpan Guha.
Their debut album titled 'Kaise Kahoon' broke the barriers between different genres of music and was widely appreciated by critics and fans alike.
Bandish's debut song "Goonj" has been successfully sustaining no. 6 and no.7 position on the MTV World Chart Express for many weeks.
Similarly, Abbey, the sound engineer turned into a sound singer, is a young artist who emerged into the world of music with his sensational video 'Aye Sanam'.
After thrilling music lovers with his first album, Abbey has bounced back with the second album, 'Fidaa'. Fidaa has ten songs, all in a different style like reggae, rock and pop.
With these three groups converging on the night of October 28, Effervescence MMVI seems set to thrill the audience with pure energy and jubilation.
Speaking about the enthusiastic preparations for these events, Dr Anurika Vaish of IIIT-Allahabad said: "Effervescence is gaining popularity and confidence among the sponsors and student fraternity across the country. This time the participation has increased tremendously in both the on-line as well as on-campus events."
"Since the alumni meet will also coincide with Effervescence this year, we are expecting the fest this time to become one of the biggest youth festivals ever held in Allahabad," she added.
