Noting that the city is a hub of IT, industry and research and science, Fernandes told reporters in Bangalore "Bangalore is bound to be a target of such attacks in the future."

The Congress leader, who hails from the state, termed the serial crude blasts as an attempt to "scare people of Karnataka."

He said he had spoken to Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil and the Centre would extend whatever assistance the state needed.
