Given Bangalore's reputation as a global IT and R&D hub, blasts of the kind which took place in Bangalore on Friday were likely to recur, Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment Oscar Fernandes said on Saturday.
Noting that the city is a hub of IT, industry and research and science, Fernandes told reporters in Bangalore "Bangalore is bound to be a target of such attacks in the future."
The Congress leader, who hails from the state, termed the serial crude blasts as an attempt to "scare people of Karnataka."
He said he had spoken to Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil and the Centre would extend whatever assistance the state needed.
