NATIONAL PUBLIC School students celebrated ?Yellow Day? on the occasion of Basant Panchami yesterday. The pre-primary and primary classes of the school participated in the celebration. The children offered prayers to Goddess Saraswati and played ?Holi? with flowers.

School director (Academics) C James, director (Administration) V Khatwani and principal S Chitnis participated in the programme. The festival was celebrated in Mata Gujri Girls College with a poetry programme. Professor Saroj Kumar was the chief guest and University Department teacher Prof Ramani was the special guest of the programme.
The programme began with Saraswati Vandana. Prof Kumar explained the difference between Valentine’s Day and Basant Panchami through his poems. His poems highlighted the significance of Indian culture. Students Rubin Tanwar, Asha Rajan and Pallavi Tiwari also presented their poems in the programme.
Prof Ramani presented some poems and told the students that poems are a medium to express the inner feelings. College principal Ram Shrivastav conducted the programme.
Standard Public School: The school organised a programme to welcome the spring season yesterday. The programme began with Saraswati Vandana and lighting of lamp by School director N Jha and principal T R Brown. The students presented various cultural programmes.
Students Urja Shirke and Harshwardhan Mandwani expressed their views on Basant Panchami. The teachers dressed in yellow attire to mark the occasion. School chairman Vasudev Mangaramani, Preetamdas Dodeja and manager Jitendra Dodeja participated in the programme.
