"The Technical Committee meeting in Chennai will discuss the rules and regulations for Twenty20 format of the game that we have received from the ICC. We are planning to host the domestic Twenty20 event among all units in the first week of April," BCCI's Chief Administrative Officer Ratnakar Shetty said.

The Board has not conducted any tournament in the slam-bang variety of the game till now though India have already played a Twenty20 International - on their recent tour of South Africa and won it too.

The Twenty20 World Championship is scheduled in South Africa in September this year and the domestic tournament is being billed as a forerunner to the global event.

The committee will also review the Ranji Trophy points system and the recommendation of BCCI's Joint Secretary M P Pandove to play all elite division league ties, semi final and final at neutral venues from next season, Shetty said.

At present the Ranji Trophy matches are held on rotation on a home and away basis.
