LAUNCHING A crusade against the Samajwadi Party-led State Government for maintaining silence over Azam Khan’s remarks on ‘Muslim Pradesh’, state president of Bharatiya Janata Party Keshari Nath Tripathi demanded that the SP should clear its stand on the issue. Talking to mediapersons, Tripathi said there was a race among the Congress, the SP and the BSP to attract minority vote banks for their vested interest and that was why they were following the appeasement policy. Expressing his apprehension that the nation is heading towards another division, Keshari said the appeasement of a particular class could boost the morale of separatist forces.

Continuing his tirade, Tripathi said the State Government was not imposing ban on SIMI despite a ban was imposed on the organisation by Centre. He also condemned the State Government’s move to withdraw cases against SIMI activists.

Tripathi said the Congress party had decided to provide 15 per cent reservation to the minorities in employment, which was dangerous for the unity of the nation. He demanded that the Central leadership of the Congress should suspend the membership of State Congress president Salman Khurshid for pursuing the cases of SIMI. He recalled that the BJP had expelled Ram Jethmalani from the party for advocating the accused of the Indira Gandhi murder case.

Tripathi appealed the people of the state to reject caste politics in the larger interest of UP.

Responding to a question, Tripathi said the party would give 30 per cent ticket to the youth in the upcoming Assembly elections and appealed the party workers to step up their preparation for municipal corporation election. Earlier, he participated in a training camp at Saraswati Shishu Mandir along with BJP MP Yogi Adityanath.
