Actress Catherine Deneuve has admitted that she constantly feels the burden of having once been called the most beautiful woman in the world, as it has required her to look immaculate at all times.

The 62 year old has aged so gracefully that she models for L'Oreal and MAC, but admits she soon realised that her acclaimed beauty was more a pain than a compliment for her.

"I realised very quickly that is was as much a responsibility as a compliment. I was expected not just to be a good actress but to look like this creature from heaven," Contactmusic quoted her, as saying.

"Pictures are airbrushed and retouched. It's not a question of not thinking that you are not that good, it's just that you are different. Nowadays, having that tag is still a challenge.

People still expect a lot, but I have a fixed time limit on what I am supposed to look like. I don't want to fall into that trap of the total refusal to grow old," she added.
