The company has bagged orders for the Bell 429 from Indian operators even before it was demonstrated. “We have already received more than 10 orders for Bell 429 and hope to sell at least 50 in the next five years,” said Sanjay Malhotra, president, Jubilant Enpro, Bell’s sole distributor in India.

The company is planning to demonstrate Bell 429 early next year. “The demonstration will be made on an all-India basis to customers and the first delivery in India is expected towards 2010-end,” said Malhotra.

Bell Helicopter organised its second maintenance and operations conference in New Delhi on Friday. The conference, co-sponsored by Jubilant Enpro and Airworks India Engineering, offered a platform for operators to understand the fine points of maintaining helicopters. The company plans to organise such a conference every alternate year.
