Bhang shops auction postponed

EXCISE DEPARTMENT has postponed the auction for bhang, bhang ghota, bhang meethai and tadi shops to March 17, as all the bids received today were below reserve price.

According to information, only six bidders turned up at the auction held till this afternoon for 2006-07. Dissatisfied with prices quoted, the officials present at the auction rejected the bids. District Collector Vivek Aggarwal, Deputy Excise Commissioner J S Sengar and Assistant Excise Commissioner Naval Singh Jamod were present on the occasion.

According to sources, the March 17 deadline is likely to be extended, as the Department is not expecting a good response that day, too.
