Bharrat Jagdeo is President of Guyana. He has also acted as PM of the Republic.

Bharrat Jagdeo is President of the Republic of Guyana. Born on January 23, 1964 into a working class family at Unity Village, East Coast of Demerara, Jagdeo entered politics at the tender age of 13, when he joined the Progressive Youth Organization (PYO), the youth arm of the People’s Progressive Party (PPP).

Jagdeo, who has acted as Prime Minister of the Republic and overlooked other ministries was elected as President on March 19, 2001.
