Describing the company as a highly innovative company, the magazine improved Bharti's ranking from 19 in 2005 to 10 this year. The telecom service provider is the only Indian company that has made it to the list, a company statement said.
Bharti was ahead of Motorola (ranked 11), Google (ranked 13), Microsoft (ranked 37), Hewlett Packard (ranked 44) and Oracle (ranked 51).
On being ranked tenth, Bharti Airtel Chairman and Managing Director Sunil Bharti Mittal said, "It has always been our endeavour to create a world-class organisation that provides best in class services. We are proud to be up there with the very best in the world."
The companies' ranking by the Business Week were based on four criteria - return of equity, revenue growth, shareholder return (given equal weight) and total revenue (which was weighted) - the release added.
