Bihar Governor R S Gavai on Tuesday met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Home Minister Shivraj Patil.
This was Gavai's first meeting with Singh and Patil after he assumed office last month.
The Governor's meeting with the Prime Minister took place in his South Block office, while his meeting with the Home Minister took place in North Block.
Official sources described the meetings as "courtesy calls".
The 76-year old RPI leader was sworn in at the Patna Raj Bhawan on June 22.
