The strike was called by the coordination committee of the three associations of the lawyers of the Patna High Court-- Barristers Association, Lawyers Association and Advocates Association--the committee convenor Y C Verma said.

An extra-ordinary general body meeting of the coordination committee this afternoon has called upon all lawyers across Bihar to abstain from professional work to seek restoration of the old court timings as the new timings have adversely affected our professional work, he said.

The working hours of the Patna High Court was altered from 10.30 am-4.15 pm schedule to 10.15 am-4.30 pm, while those of the lower courts were changed from 11 am-5 pm to 10.50 am-5.30 pm.
