Bikers hit policeman; four arrested

Four youths were arrested on Tuesday after they hit a constable with their motor bike at suburban Mahim in the wee hours and tried to flee from the spot, police said.

Constable Gulab Khan Pathan from Mahim police station was on duty at around 2.50 am when the four accused identified as Vijay Parmar (21), Mahesh Vaghela (18), Vivek More (18), Rajesh Gohil (22), riding two bikes, hit him, they said.

The accused who were moving towards Bandra, tried to escape after the incident but were nabbed after an half-an-hour chase at Vakola near Santacruz suburb, police said.

Pathan has received injuries and further investigations are on, police added.
