ROADS IN front of Gole Market are mostly in a pathetic condition and get broken as soon as they are repaired, said Sandeep. Sector B resident Amar Singh says, “We have been asking for a park to be developed and appointment of gardeners but nothing has come through in the last five years.” Due to poor drainage, water logging is a common feature in the Akbar Nagar and Rahim Nagar areas, said Ashish Mehrotra. Encroachment is another big problem here. During the ‘Budh (Wednesday) Bazar’, one cannot even dream of driving a car through.

We have complained against encroachments and setting up of weekly market on roads but nothing was done till date. Replying to the charges, corporator Girish Singh says, “Water problem is almost solved over last five years, I had three tube wells installed in my ward during my tenure, I am contesting this election with the promise of building an overhead water tank. Regarding roads, I can assure they are better here than in other parts of city. I have promised sewer lines in this tenure,” he said. About encroachments, he said, “I have written several times to change venue of Budh Bazar or organise it in a better way, its up to the administration to take action on that.”
