THE COMMUNITY Service Banking cell of State Bank of Indore and Vidhi Sewa Sankalp Institute launched a book on legal information and government schemes for women called 'Jagori' recently. Bank General Manager T Ramesh Babu released the book. He said that women were deprived of their rights due to lack of awareness about government schemes and legal rights.
Vidhi Sewa Sankalp president Archana Jaiswal said the magazine would prove significant in connecting women service institutes with government projects. Dr Savita Inamdar, Pushpa Sinha, Janak Palta, Vinita Tiwari, Dr Nisha Dubey, Jyotsana Khandelwal, Sunita Jain, Kalpana Babu, Shakila Khan, Varsha Soni, Usha Agarwal and Kiran Jaiswal participated in the programme. Kaushalya Patangya and Girja Pandit conducted the programme and Bank's Community Service Banking Manager Vijay Sharma proposed the vote of thanks.
Self-employment training for women
NEHRU YUVA Kendra (NYK) organised a fortnight long self-employment training programme for women recently. Around 250 rural and urban women participated in the training programme organised by Nehru Lok Vikas Evam Samaj Kalyan Shodh Sansthan, Khandwa. The women were taught to manufacture detergent soap, washing powder, liquid soap, whitener, sweet beetle, jute items and phenyl. Kendra district youth coordinator Rajesh Kumar Mishra informed that the participants would be awarded district-level training certificates.
Indore top revenue earner
INDORE DISTRICT had the highest income in the State from stamp and registration duty during the current financial year. District Registrar N S Tomar informed that income from stamp duty was Rs 164.81 crore up to February 2006. The amount is 37 per cent more than last year's income of Rs 120.66 crore from stamp and registration duty in the district. The increase in revenue generation as compared to last year amounts to Rs 44.15 crore.
Dhanlakshmi Yojana coupons
THE DISTRICT Administration has distributed around two lakh prize coupons under the 'Dhanlakshmi Yojana' in the district till now. The scheme offers a chance to win Rs one lakh on depositing Rs 10,000 in small savings scheme up to March 31. District Small Savings Officer (Indore) S S Sharma informed that the prize coupons would be provided on investment in any one of Rashtriya Bachat Patra, Kisan Vikas Patra, monthly income scheme, senior citizen scheme, two-, three- and five-year time deposit accounts and Public Provident Fund.
A first prize of Rs one lakh, two second prizes of Rs 20,000 each, three third prizes of Rs 10,000 each and 20 fourth prizes of Rs 5,000 each would be awarded to winners of lucky draw on May 5, 2006. Also Rs 1,000 would be awarded to 34 agents through whom the highest amounts would be deposited.
