BJP leaders condole Mahajan?s death

THE BHARATIYA Janata Party rank and file of Varanasi condoled the untimely demise of its senior leader Pramod Mahajan describing him a charismatic figure with immense qualities of head and heart at a meeting organised here on Thursday.

Though number of such condolence meetings were held in different parts of Varanasi and its adjoining districts, a big meeting was held at Gulabbagh office where the BJP leaders paid tributes to the departed leader.

Former MP Shakar Prasad Jaiswal, MLA Shyam Deo Roy Chaudhary, City president of BJP, Kailash Kesari, Harshpal Kapoor Shankar Giri, Suresh Rai, Purshottam, Ram Gopal Verma etc., expressed their sorrow and grief at the untimely demise of the party’s top leader who succumbed to bullet injuries after battling for life for 12 days.

The party activists, while expressing shock at the demise of Mahajan said, his death was a severe blow to the party. They prayed for the peace of the departed soul during two-minute silence observed in his memory.

Similarly, a condolence meeting was organised at the residence of District general secretary of BJP, Sujeet Singh Tika. The activists observed two-minutes silence and prayed for the peace of the departed soul.

Tika said the untimely demise of Pramod Mahajan was an irreparable loss for the BJP workers.

He added that the charismatic and dynamic personality of Pramod Mahajan was a source of inspiration for the youth in BJP. Other local BJP leaders including Arti Singh, Hansraj Vishwakarma, Jagdish Gaur, Sanjay Singh expressed their sorrow.

In a condolence meeting at Hanuman Dharmshala, the local BJP leaders including Narendra Srivastava, Badri Prasad Jaiswal, Vinod Kumar Bagi, Santosh Mishra, Prithavi Nath Sharma and Manoj Kesari expressed their sorrow at Mahajan’s demise.

Panchayat cell of BJP, Varanasi unit, organised a condolence meeting at the residence of the district president of panchayat cell, Vineet Singh. The workers offered flower on the portrait of Pramod Mahajan and prayed peace for the departed soul of Pramod Mahajan. They said that the untimely death of Mahajan was a great loss for the BJP.

Gorakhpur: The BJP flag was lowered at the party office and leaders paid floral tributes to Mahajan. A series of condolence meetings were held. BJP city unit traders’ cell president Satyaprakash Singh Munna and others organised a meeting at the party office and said Mahajan’s death was a major setback. A condolence meeting was also held at Rani Laxmi Bai Park where Lok Dal State president Shambhu Sharan Rahi said the nation had lost an able parliamentarian.
