BJP man murder accused held

THE POLICE have arrested four persons on charge of murdering BJP worker Bharat Patidar in Sutarkheri here. Bharat Patidar was allegedly murdered by Dheeraj Yadav and six other accomplices while he was returning home after attending a marriage function.

THE POLICE have arrested four persons on charge of murdering BJP worker Bharat Patidar in Sutarkheri here. Bharat Patidar was allegedly murdered by Dheeraj Yadav and six other accomplices while he was returning home after attending a marriage function.

The Patidar and Yadav families had an old enmity that resulted in the alleged murder. After the murder, agitated BJP leaders had gheraoed the Kishanganj police station and had staged a chakka-jam on the Agra-Mumbai Road demanding the arrest of the accused.

Last night, the police arrested four of the accused - Neeraj, Dheeraj, Jagdish and Bheem. Three other accused are still absconding.

Meanwhile, the police have also arrested two persons on charge of murdering Shakeel (45), son of Shamsher Khan, a resident of Moti Tabela, in Balda Colony.

Two knives were recovered from them. The arrested were Kalu alias Rajesh, son of Bholaram; and Gyani, son of Roshanlal Dhanak, both residents of Sethi Nagar. However, the killers of the coloniser in Chandan Nagar area are still at large.

Gamblers nabbed
THE POLICE arrested 16 persons on charges of gambling and satta operation and seized Rs 13,615 from them. In one of the incidents, Sanyogitaganj police raided a place in Ajaybagh Colony and arrested Harish and Rakesh on charge of taking satta bets and seized Rs 8830 in cash and two mobile phones from them. While searching the room, the police stumbled on two swords kept there and seized them.

The Sanver police arrested Narayan, son of Ramesh, and Rajaram, son of Naval Singh, in village Ajnod on charge of taking satta bets. The police seized satta slips and Rs 3535 from them.
