BJP leaders led by Deputy Prime Minister L.K. Advani, party president M. Venkaiah Naidu and Finance Minister Jaswant Singh met the PM at his residence.

They reportedly told him that BJP cadres had "risen to the occasion" and worked hard even in Delhi, where the party's prospects had been written off from the beginning.

The BJP leaders discussed the government's strategy for Parliament’s winter session.

BJP general secretaries, in charge of the four states, are understood to have told the high command that the BJP cadres fought as one in the final stages of the campaign, in spite of initial bickering.
