The convention has been cancelled in view of the President's visit to the city and non-availability of VVIP accommodation at the Government circuit house, Ravi Bhawan, they said.

Moreover, Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee has convened a meeting of opposition on February 8 to chalk out a strategy for the forthcoming Parliament budget session and to end the deadlock over JPC demand by the BJP-led opposition, the sources added.
