“Congress is soft towards militancy and militants and that is the reason why Congress-led UPA did not implement the verdict of supreme court of death sentence to Afzal Guru,” State BJP spokesperson Ramesh Arora said in Jammu.

The Congress has also abolished POTA like law without giving any alternative, he said, adding there is also an increase in militancy-related activities in the state.

Referring to Varun Gandhi’s arrest under National Security Act, the BJP spokesperson said that the Congress-led UPA has never taken any steps to arrest separatist elements like hard line Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani under Public Safety Act in the state.
