"Continued silence of the Congress leadership over the controversial statement of Omar that Jammu and Kashmir had only acceded and not merged with the Union of India is tantamount to the party agreeing with the views," BJP state unit chief Shamsher Singh Manhas told reporters.

Omar had on Monday said he stood by his statement on accession and that he had no regrets for it.

Asking the Congress leadership to come clear on the issue, Manhas said the party will launch a nation-wide agitation against the attitude of the ruling party over the issue.
