Bloated Formula One just got bigger

With the Indian GP being postponed to Mid-December the F1 season will go down as the longest since 1963. If you thought, there would be some respite, newsflash, F1 is still Bernie's brainchild.

The 2012 season will be the longest in history - with a record 21 races. The addition will be the new United States (US) GP, not in the Indy speedway, but in a new F1 circuit developed in Austin, Texas.

The two back-to-back overtime seasons will take a toll on all the teams, not just the drivers.

"The two long seasons will make things very difficult for all teams - the team officials, the engineers, the drivers. The season has become so winding, that we hardly get much time to rest," bemoaned Karthikeyan.
