According to police, Rajendra and his wife Kamlesh, residents of Nagla Teja village in the district, were crossing the track and were run over by a train.

Villagers, however, said that the couple had thrown themselves before a moving train.

Villagers said the couple were under stress after they were named in an FIR for the murder of a villager Bachchoo Singh on April 18. A warrant had been issued by the court against Rajendra. Since then the couple had been absconding.
