The Chhapar police recovered the body of a dalit man who was missing from Rai village since Sunday evening.

The body was found hanging from a tree in a grove situated outside the village.

The family members resisted when police tried to send the body for post mortem examination but relented later on the assurance of compensation.

According to sources, Manga, 50, a resident of Rai under Chhapar police circle had disappeared mysteriously and could not be traced despite intense search. Later, his family informed the police.

On Monday morning, some people informed the police about a body hanging from a tree outside the village.

Cops reached there and the deceased was identified as Manga.

His family members also reached the spot and strongly protested when police tried to send the body for post mortem examination.

CO Karamveer Singh somehow pacified them and assured that he would recommend compensation.

The family suspected that some unknown killers hanged the body from the tree after killing Manga late on Sunday evening.
