Bollywood lures Irvin Kershner to India

The celebrated director wants to rope in Indian actors for his new film.

The might and mind behind Hollywood blockbusters like Star Wars - The Empire Strikes Back, James Bond flick Never Say Never Again and Robocop II, Director Irvin Kershner is in India and what attracted him to the country is the Bollywood talent and locales here.

Kershner along with producer Dr Arjun Daluvoy is here for a recee for their forthcoming movie The Princess and The Wizard. The movie, which is said to be based on a Middle-East fairy tale, is a romantic comedy and is full of adventure and visual effects.

The film, to be directed by Irvin Kershner and produced by Dr Daluvoy under his banner Arjun Films International, will be distributed by 21st Century World Wild Distribution Inc. Its art and photography direction will be done by Giles Masters and Richard Kline respectively, while Oscar winner Gerard Schumann will compose the flick's music.

line producers, cameramen, skilled and unskilled labour, the secret behind the making of about 1,200 movies a year, that is 100 movies per month.

He said there is an abundance of workers here. Hence, his movie will involve skilled technicians of Bollywood apart from artistes. Also the focus of his visit would be Indian studios inclding Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad and locales in Rajasthan, Punjab and Mysore for location shooting.

Dr Daluvoy, a US-based surgeon, is also the founder of World Entertainment Media, involved in promoting fusion of the best of the the east and west in the entertainment industry-- film, fashion, music and lifestyle. A subsidary of World Entertainment Media is Bollywood to Hollywood (B2H) focused on developing high quality films and TV programming.

Kershner said he will dedicate the whole next year to develop the project from its current script form to a finished product.

Hoping the movie will attract families as audience, the director aims to beat all his previous box office records.

Besides India, the film will be shot in Morocco, Egypt, Eastern Europe and America.
