A bomb scare affected the movement of trains for about an hour and created panic among the passengers at Alaipur railway station in Varanasi on Saturday afternoon.

A bomb scare affected the movement of trains for about an hour and created panic among the passengers at Alaipur railway station in Varanasi on Saturday afternoon.

Fear gripped passengers when an unclaimed suitcase was sighted at Alaipur railway station at 14.15 hrs on Saturday afternoon prompting the authorities to suspend movement of trains for nearly an hour, police sources said.

The bomb disposal squad cordoned off the area and broke open the suitcase that was containing clothes, they said.
