Boxing Assn official arrested on sexual harassment charges

A senior official of Tamil Nadu Boxing Association was on Tuesday arrested on sexual harassment charges filed by a woman pugilist, police said.
A K Karunakaran, general secretary, Tamil Nadu Boxing Association was arrested under different sections of IPC, including outraging the modesty of a woman and harassment, police said.
The complainant, a medal winner at national level, had alleged that she was not selected for an upcoming tournament despite good performance since the official had demanded sexual favours from her, police said.
She had filed a complaint recently, police added.
