Boy killed, 2 injured in house collapses in J&K

A boy was killed and two injured as 13 houses collapsed due to flash floods and heavy rains in Kathua, Udhampur and Rajouri districts of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said.

Kannu Niyal (5) was buried alive when a thatched house collapsed due to heavy rains at Deoli village near Billawar tehsil of Kathua district on Sunday night, the sources told PTI.



The body was later recovered and handed over to his family.



Eight houses collapsed as flash floods swept a village in Manano in Samba district on Sunday night. There was no loss of life or injury to anyone as authorities had evacuated the people before the flash floods.



One house collapsed due to heavy rains in Sokha Talab in Ramnagar area of Udhampur district on Sunday night, they said adding that two women Ambho Devi and her daughter Rekhoo Devi were injured and later hospitalised.



Two houses collapsed in Dharhal area of Rajouri district in which a cow died, they added.
