I&B minister Priyaranjan Dasmunshi on Thursday announced that the controversial Broadcast Services Regulation Bill would be tabled in the budget session of Parliament with little changes. “We would table the bill towards end of the session,” he said.
On the controversial clauses in the bill, Dasmunshi said, there would be not many changes from the draft that was put on the ministry’s website for seeking comments.
The bill had received flak from the stakeholders last year, as it appeared to give sweeping powers to the government to control the electronic media.
