BSF troops opened fire after observing suspicious movement along the International Border of Kathua district in Jammu division, BSF officials said on Saturday.

A patrolling party of BSF noticed suspicious movement along the border near Pansar area in Hiranagar sector past midnight, they said, adding the security forces in an attempt to thwart any kind of intrusion opened fire.
However, there was no casualty or injury reported to any one, they said.
Troops along the border had intensified the patrolling in view of attempts from across the border to push intruders and militants to the Indian side of the border, they added.
