BSNL to focus on better service

THE BHARAT Sanchar Nigam Ltd will focus on marketing and quality improvement for pushing up its services in the market. New UP Telecom (East) Circle chief general manager Omvir Singh made this statement after taking charge here on Monday. He has replaced VK Shukla who had been transferred around two months ago.

New UP Telecom (East) Circle chief general manager Omvir Singh made this statement after taking charge here on Monday. He has replaced VK Shukla who had been transferred around two months ago.

Talking to media persons, Singh said only an aggressive marketing strategy and improvement in services could help generate more demand for cell phone connections. Now there was a lot of potential in rural areas he said. Singh said while he would try to popularise the BSNL’s mobile services, he would also see to it that the subscribers did not surrender their landline telephones All efforts would be made to check surrender of basic telephones, he added. Schemes would also be announced to encourage people to get their landline phones reconnected, he said.
