"A case has been registered against Jaiswal for holding the meeting," Jayant Dixit, the Kushinagar additional district magistrate, told IANS on telephone. The temple is located in Fazilnagar in Kushinagar, some 300 km from Lucknow.
The meeting on Saturday by the BSP candidate was to be held at a community centre in Ahroli village. But Jaiswal chose the religious site.
"The case against Jasiwal was registered on Monday night following the directives of the district administration," said police inspector Mathura Rai.
