‘Dalit-Brahmin combination to emerge victorious’

NATIONAL GENERAL secretary of the Bahujan Samaj Party Satish Chandra Mishra claimed here that the alliance between Dalits and Brahmins would upset the political game of other parties. He accused the Congress of persuading the ‘divide and rule’ policy never and allowing Brahmins and Dalits to come closure for his vested political interests.
Delivering his views at a felicitation programme organised by the Kayastha Society, Mishra said the Kayastha community had played a vital role in the society and expressed hope that the BSP formula of ‘serve samaj’ would ensure proper representation of Kayasthas in politics. Senior BSP leader Dr Ashok Srivastav, Dr VK Sinha, Durga Prasad Srivastav, Engineer Sujeet Kumar, Dr AK Srivastav, Badri Vishal Srivastav and others welcomed Mishra in the programme and expressed their views.
Without naming anyone, Mishra said two national parties had been sidelined in UP politics. They had no following and were in no position to oppose the misrule of SP-led government. Terming SP as the enemy number one of the Brahmin community, he said in the last two years, 150 Brahmin were assassinated across the State but SP leaders never expressed their concern over the killings. Mishra appealed to the Brahmin community to follow the policies of Chanakya and to join hands with the BSP.
Earlier, he addressed a Brahmin conference at Khajani, 20 kms away from district headquarters. Mishra said the representation of Brahmin community in the Assembly and Lok Sabha had reduced to a considerable level.
At present there were only two Brahmin MPs from UP instead of 30 to 40 Brahmin MPs earlier. He appealed to the impressive gathering of Brahmins to be with the BSP. To prove his point further, he even said that during Mayawati’s regime all top administrative posts including that of the DGP, Advocate General, Principal Secretary, Finance, and etc were with Brahmins.
He further said that the BSP supremo had realised that 90 per cent Brahmins were facing hardship in earning their bread and were living below poverty line.
He admitted that during the BSP government, Dalits were given priority and compared Mayawati with a mother who paid more attention and affection to her weak child in comparison to others.
Mishra hinted that Brahmins would get appropriate representation in distribution of BSP ticket in the upcoming Assembly elections and appealed to the Brahmins to use their intellect and their position to strengthen the society.
Mishra said if 16 per cent Brahmins and 24 per cent Dalits joined hands in UP, they would capture most of the Assembly and Parliament seats.
