At least 844 recently recruited primary schools teachers after receiving a six-month special BTC training, have not been paid their salaries since the last five months.

Thus, the students resorted to a weeklong demonstration at the BSA office in support of their demands but all their efforts vent in vain as education officials were unsympathetic.

On Thursday, the irked teachers locked the offices of BSA, finance officer and other offices in support of their demands. When the education officials tried to pacify them, the situation took an ugly turn as there was a verbal exchange of words. However, police intervention prevented any mishap.

It is to be noted the salaries of teachers were to be made after verification of their certificates attached to their application form. Unfortunately, in the last five months, only 22 teachers’ certificates were verified.

Teachers’ leader Yogesh Shukla and Nagina demanded that a notice submitted by them should be considered as verified certificates but education officials rejected the demand. According to sources the certificates of teachers were sent to the DDU Gorakhpur University for verification and when the university staff started the verification they realised the various certificates submitted by the special BTC trainees were fake.

University employees are under pressure as BTC trainees who have been recruited are threatening university employees to give them verification certificates.
