Bureaucratic reshufle in Meghalaya govt

The Meghalaya Govt has effected a bureaucratic reshuffle in the administration by changing 5 deputy commissioners.

The Meghalaya government has effected a bureaucratic reshuffle in the administration by changing five deputy commissioners of the districts.

Deputy commissioner (DC) of East Khasi Hills district Pankaj Jain was shifted to Delhi as the governance advisor, DFID. His counterpart from neighbouring Ri-bhoi district B Dhar was asked to fill up the vacancy.

Revenue Secretary SF Khonwir would be the new DC of Ri-bhoi, Chief Secretary SK Tewari said on Sunday.

Director of community and rural development (CRD) M H K Marak was appointed the new DC of South Garo Hills.

The DC of East Garo Hills F Kharlyngdoh would take over as the new DC of West Khasi Hills in place of KL Tariang who would be shifted as additional secretary in the agriculure department.

MK Synrem, an additional DC in West Khasi Hills, would be the new DC of East Garo Hills, official sources said.

The reshuffle did not change the two DCs of West Garo Hills and Jaintia Hills.

Additional Secretary in edcuation department LR Sangma was appointed as the director CRD and Renilla D Marak as director education, research and training.

In the reshuffle, HM Shangpliang was appointed the managing director of state-run Mawluh Cherra Cement Ltd and DP Wahalan as the secretary, information technology.
