BURGLARS STRUCK at a house in Arera Colony and decamped with gold and silver jewellery apart from household goods and cash worth over Rs 1 lakh.
The house, at E-7/341, belonged to lawyer Santosh Verma and the family was away at the time of the incident. On their return they found the house burgled. The thieves had apparently entered from the terrace where a gate was left open due to a part of the house being under construction.
The thieves stole gold jewellery, silverware, silver coins, clothes and Rs 22,000 in cash. The burglars also stole 10 ‘tola’ gold and ransacked the house. Police have registered a case and launched a hunt for the burglars.
Girls robbed : Three motorcycle borne youths robbed two scooter-borne girls of a bag containing cash and two cell phones in Arera Colony late Thursday evening.
The complainant, Shivangi, 19, resident of Char Imli, was on way to Mansarovar Complex with a friend who was riding pillion, when three motorcycle-borne youths snatched the bag from her that contained Rs 3,000 and cell phones of both the girls. The robbers fled on their motorcycle soon after the loot. The police registered a case and the search is on for the looters.
