US Special Envoy for Afghanistan and Pakistan Richard Holbrooke told reporters here that he spoke to Burns after his arrival in India.

He said Burns is carrying a personal letter from Obama to Singh. Holbrooke also said the US would like to see India's cooperation with regard to Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Burns today met Foreign Secretary Shiv Shankar Menon in New Delhi, during which the Indian side is believed to have noted that Pakistan has not done enough in curbing terror directed against it and bringing to justice the perpetrators of Mumbai attacks.

Burns, the first high-ranking US official to visit India during UPA government's second tenure, also met External Affairs Minister S M Krishna and Home Minister P Chidambaram.

He is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Singh on Friday.
