Bush offers $13.5 million aid to Lebanon

US President George W Bush on Monday made up to $13.5 million available to help Lebanon cope with urgent humanitarian needs such as refugee assistance, the White House said.

"It is important to the national interest that up to $13.5 million be made available from the US Emergency Refugee and Migration Assistance Fund to meet unexpected urgent humanitarian needs related to the conflict in Lebanon," he said in a memorandum to US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.
