Bush will arrive in New Delhi on March 1 on the first leg of the South Asia tour. He will will also visit Pakistan from March 4.

The US President will hold talks with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on March 2 and pay a brief visit to technology hub of Hyderabad the next day.

The two sides are expected to finalise the agreement on civilian nuclear energy cooperation that Bush and Singh signed in Washington on July 18, 2005.

The deal centres on a plan under which India has to separate its civilian and military nuclear programmes. Those deemed civilian facilities would have to be placed under international safeguards.

If the deal is finalised, India will get access to civilian nuclear technology from the United States which had imposed sanctions on New Delhi after the latter conducted nuclear test in 1998.

Several rounds of talks have been held between US Under Secretary for Political Affairs Nicholas Burns and his Indian counterpart Shyam Saran.
