The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) on Monday dubbed the suspension of its president Jagmohan Dalmiya by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) from participation in Board affairs as "unfair" and "unjust".

CAB Joint Secretaries Saradindu Pal and Amitava Banerjee in a joint statement said that Bombay High Court granted anticipatory bail to Dalmiya in the alleged misappropriation of funds case.

But, "the BCCI acted in undue haste and announced the suspension of Dalmiya even before going into the merits of the case."

The two officials said the entire CAB stood firm behind its president who is an ex-president of the BCCI.

"We are seeking legal opinion in the matter and would convene an emergent Working Committee meeting soon to discuss the future course of action," they said.
