Singh was talking to newsmen at his residence in Raghogarh on Tuesday. He said this had become clear from the fact that BJP’s decision came after Sangh chief KS Sudershan termed the ban as unfair. Singh further said this decision would adversely affect public awareness relating to population control in the State.

It comes as a blow on the efforts taken to create public awareness on the issue of family planning, he added. It may be noted here that the State Cabinet took the decision only on Monday that candidates with more than two children would also be allowed to contest in local body elections in future. Digvijay Singh Government had imposed a ban on such candidates during its tenure.
