Camping sites to come up in Gurgaon, Faridabad

In some good news for adventure sports enthusiasts in Delhi and NCR towns, the Union Ministry of Tourism has approved two camping sites in Haryana.

In some good news for adventure sports enthusiasts in Delhi and NCR towns, the Union Ministry of Tourism has approved two camping sites in Haryana.

One of the sites is located at the Delhi-Gurgaon border, just off Gurgaon Expressway in Gurgaon, and another at the historical Surajkund Mela site in Faridabad.

To come up at 48 and 50 acres of Haryana Tourism land respectively, both sites is expected to be ready before the Commonwealth Games next year. The ministry did not sanction camping sites in other NCR towns such as Noida, the Union Minister for Tourism and Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation Minister Kumari Selja said.

“We have also sanctioned Rs 7 crore for the development of two camping sites in border Haryana towns. A total of Rs 54 cores has been earmarked for Haryana Tourism this year,” she said.
