ALL 10 contestants of mayoral post in Varanasi Nagar Nigam were allotted election symbols here on Sunday. Besides, candidates contesting the posts of corporators were also allotted election symbols.

Chandra Deo Jaiswal of Congress was allotted palm as his election symbol whereas Kaushlendra Singh of BJP was allotted lotus. Kanhaiya Lal of SP got cycle as election symbol while Usha Singh Chauhan of RLD got hand-pump.
Shiv Sena candidate Gulshan Kapoor was allotted arrow and bow symbol and NCP’s Brij Kishore was allotted watch. LJP candidate Munauvar Ali was allotted bungalow while JD (U) candidate got arrow. Ashok Yadav and Prahlad Jaiswal, both independent candidates, were allotted coconut and chair symbols, respectively.
Meanwhile, candidates for the post of Ramnagar palika chairman were also allotted election symbols on Sunday. There are nine contestants in the fray.
