Besides, elections are scheduled at the Sampurnanand Sanskrit University, the Harishchandra Post Graduate Degree College and the Udai Pratap Autonomous Degree College in September and October.
The elections would be held for the posts of president, vice-president, general secretary and library secretary. Apart from this, the election of faculty representatives would also be held, along with the students’ union election.
According to reports, student leaders have launched a massive election campaign in these institutes.
There are banners and posters in areas surrounding these universities. Besides, student leaders are engaged in distributing hand-bills, pamphlets and other election material to garner the support of students.
Even though the authorities of these academic institutes have clamped a ban on campaigning on the campus, student leaders can be seen personally contacting the students and wooing them in most of the institutes .
MGKV students’ union election officer Prof Surendra Singh said 6,000 students would take part in the election on September 13. Nominations will be filed on September 7. The final list of candidates will be declared on September 8.
Sources said the Harishchandra College students’ union election would be held in the last week of September. Polls in Sampurnanand Sanskrit University and UP College will be held in October.
