A division bench, comprising Justice Bhanumathi and Justice Mala, who enquired the Jeer through an interpreter (High court registrar) disposed the petition as the Jeer had been produced in the court.

Judges observed that a single judge had already ordered that Srinivasa temple attached to the Mutt be opened and devotees should be allowed into the Mutt. However, a separate writ had been filed against the disciples of the Jeer, Badrinarayanan and Gotharani that they were not allowing the devotees into the mutt.

When the Judges asked whether he was kidnapped by Badrinarayanan, as alleged by the petitioner, the Jeer said he was not kidnapped. He said he was on a tour to meet his disciples as the Mutt did not have enough money for maintenance.
