In a press release on Monday, Rajesh Chandra Tewari, secretary, district unit of Central Bank Staff Association, said the strike call was given in protest against the ongoing arrogant and unilateral approach of the management, attacking the rights of the employees/officers and their trade unions and in support of the demands. The demands included restoration of bilateralism, withdrawal of unilateral transfers of office-bearers of the trade unions, no deviation in existing norms on discussion with unions, withdrawal of unilateral instructions stopping the benefits of staff welfare schemes etc.
On the eve of the strike, a joint demonstration by the agitated employees was held in front of the main branch of the Central Bank at Civil Lines, Allahabad.
Addressing the demonstrating employees, Rajesh Chandra Tiwari, asistant general secretary of Central Bank Staff Association, UP, criticised the management for its unilateral attitude and also for taking decisions against the right of the employees while neglecting their problems for the last one year.
