The Modi government on Monday evening carried out a bureaucratic reshuffle, appointing a dozen joint-secretary officers to central ministries including Delhi Transport Corporation chairperson Debashree Mukherjee.
Mukherjee – who was the first woman chief executive officer of the Delhi Jal Board before moving to DTC in 2013 – has been appointed as a joint secretary at the department of personnel & training to handle senior appointments. This is her first assignment in the central government.
IAS officer of the 2004 batch BVRC Purushottam — who was serving as private secretary to parliamentary affairs minister M Venkaiah Naidu — has been transferred as private secretary to Mahesh Sharma who is the junior minister handling tourism, culture and civil aviation.
